Area(s): Indian Ford Campground, Sisters Tie Trail
Date(s): Oct 25, 2013
Due to concerns for the safety of the public and horses the Sisters Ranger District of the Deschutes National Forest is closing the bridge to the Indian Ford campground to equestrian travel. Forest engineers recently reviewed the structure and raised concerns about the safety of the bridge due to rot. Particular concern was raised about the safety of horses and riders to cross the bridge due to the potential of a horse placing weight on a small area where there is structural damage. The closure of the bridge will affect trail users of the Sisters Tie Trail (#4092) that passes through the Indian Ford campground. All other non-motorized uses of the bridge such as foot and bike travel may continue at this time. Indian Ford campground is closed for the season.
